UK GDPR Compliant

The Safeguard Hub is fully compliant with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are committed to protecting your personal data and upholding your privacy rights.

What is UK GDPR?

The UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) is the UK's data protection law that came into effect after Brexit. It is based on the EU GDPR and works alongside the Data Protection Act 2018 to govern how organisations collect, store, and use personal data.

The UK GDPR gives individuals strong rights over their personal data and places strict obligations on organisations that process this data.

The Seven Principles

We adhere to the seven key principles of UK GDPR in all our data processing activities:

1. Lawfulness, Fairness, and Transparency

We process data lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner. We tell you what we do with your data.

2. Purpose Limitation

We collect data only for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes and do not process it in ways incompatible with those purposes.

3. Data Minimisation

We only collect data that is adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for our purposes.

4. Accuracy

We keep personal data accurate and up to date, taking reasonable steps to correct or delete inaccurate data.

5. Storage Limitation

We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

6. Integrity and Confidentiality (Security)

We process data securely, protecting against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or damage.

7. Accountability

We take responsibility for complying with these principles and can demonstrate our compliance.
