Click any area to expand what inspectors look for and what evidence to have ready.

Important โ€” Scottish framework: Child protection in Scotland is governed by the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 and the National Child Protection Guidance (Scotland) 2021, not KCSIE. The universal framework is GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child). There is no statutory DSL role; instead, schools have a Named Person (until NP provisions apply) and a Child Protection Co-ordinator. Local Child Protection Committees (CPCs) coordinate multi-agency work. Terms of use apply.
